Waiting for his turn to whoop some 5 year old boys at the 50 free.

That little guy next to him makes me smile.  I wonder if his mom knows that there is an adorable shot of her son somewhere on the internets.  I don't know him, he was a competitor.  And Corban was about to win the race, so sorry little dude.

It was a looooooooooooooooooong hot day in Taft.  It's funny because the day that Corban was born, we had to scratch our kids from the Taft meet and that day it was 108 degrees out there. I was lying in the hospital thinking how lucky I was, I could not have survived that weather as a 9 month pregnant lady.  I was lucky to have missed it. And then here we were a month later at the final swim meet and it was close to 108 and we were toting around a tiny little newborn.  WHYY?????  :) Why are we always in Taft on the hottest days of the summer? Why does Taft even exist?  I just kept dunking Calvin's blanket in the pool and we basically kept him wet all day and his temperature was fine.  Ken wasn't in the most pleasant mood, but I guess that's par for the course.

My photojournalism is limited when I have tired brain cells.  No pictures of the end.  :)  He won, though.
