Party like it's the end of Summer...
This was such a fun trip to the lake. I believe it was Memorial Day, but I'm not exactly sure. Definitely sure it was Calvin's first time on the boat. And the kids first time using this ski-trainer, it helps them stand up and start to get the feel for skiing behind the boat. I told the kids they would earn a dollar if they stood up, since they were a little nervous.
Baby snoozing on daddy.
Danny shows them how it's done. I'd imagine it's harder to do the taller you are.
Cutest pictures of Audrey, no?
Avery was such a fan.
Penny was the one who was such a crack up. No sooner had the boat started, she stood right up. Girl's serious about that dollar. She didn't even realize she could hold on, she was so serious about making that money. Not typical of Penny, she wasn't scared at all. Baby is growing up.
Pondering what to do with her riches.
There she goes, realizing she can hold on.
Water in the face. Doh!
Christopher
Danny taught all of the kids how to kneeboard.
Corban goes no-hands.
AND almost crashes.
But guys, this little kid, he didn't get his coordination from me. Usually if I'm doing this...
or this...
... the next picture is of my bum in the air. But not my Corban. Dude hangs on and saves the run.
Checking in with Danny. "I'm fine."
Bad to the bone again.
No, this is actually bad to the bone.
There are no pictures of Shawnel and I out there on the knee boards, but that's okay. I learned a little bit about spraying the person you are riding with. One of the ropes is a little bit longer than the other, so if you are brave and tilt a bit, you can spray the other person you are riding with. I felt evil but it felt so great. Except then we crashed and I got the wrong rope the second time and she showed me how to REALLY spray. Looooots of Kern county water in the face, ha ha. Good times. She could do 360 degree turns on the kneeboard. I tried a few times and failed miserably (see Corban's almost crash-pictures and then imagine me ACTUALLY face planting).
Ken and Jeremy show us where it's at.
360 degrees.
And oh, the babies. Look at these beautiful little specimens.
And big sister, she's definitely a specimen, too.
Sun going down, such a nice way to truly finish up the summer.
Thanks to our awesome friends for including us on their boat adventures. Such great times.
