San Diego Weekend
We took advantage of our one weekend without soccer games this fall by taking a quick trip to San Diego! Lucky baby Cal got to go to not one, not two, but THREE Dodgers games this year. We thought for sure they were going to go all the way to the World Series this year, but were bitterly disappointed at the very end of the season. But we are so lucky that we got to be superfans this year. Our third Dodger game this year was an adults (and Cal) only kind of a thing. We met up with Ken's siblings and dad to celebrate Grandpa Phil's birthday at a Padres/Dodgers game. What a fun tradition, I feel like being able to get together for experiences is the very best kind of gift out there these days. Happy Birthday Phil!
And Go Dodgers!! This was the only enjoyable game we went to this year-- the other two we lost too painfully. This one I watched the most exciting home run by Andre Ethier, he knocked it into the bush just to the right of our seats. I watched him hit it out of the park and then watched it just land in the bush, PLOP. Ha ha. Such a rush, it was so fun. Phil is a Padres fan and we are all Dodgers fans, so even though it was his birthday, we were pretty glad that our team gave his a spanking.
The kids spent the weekend with my parents that weekend so Ken and I could go to the game and have a little date night with Cal. It was so fun, to have some time to just be together. We stayed at a beautiful hotel and slept in until we couldn't sleep in any more. And then we played with the baby and then took another nap. Tired parents of a newborn, anyone?
We came home to our cute kids, and a baby blessing! Since we were mostly all going to be there, we decided to bless baby Calvin at Ken's parents. I was pretty scattered that day so my pictures are very very very lacking, please forgive me baby Cal. It's not for lack of love, trust me. Here are the few pictures I have of the little get together:
We had an ice cream sundae bar with all of the toppings! My kids were in heaven!
A wonderful weekend, thank you to everyone who sacrificed to make it happen. :)
