Soccer 2013

Avery and Corban both did soccer in 2013.  Corban was in a small team of young kids who had a little practice before their games on Saturdays, and Avery's met and practiced during the weeks and had games on Friday nights.  We met some really great people and ended up enjoying soccer so much more than we thought we would.  We enjoy watching our kids learn new things (and soccer was so new to us).  We think the kids are pretty good, at least we know they can hustle!

Avery's season ended with kind of a thud.  It was uncomfortable for all of us.  They won all of their playoff games and the final game ended up to be on a Sunday.  We don't judge any of our friends (LDS or not) who let their kids play on Sundays, but we just don't think it is important enough to let them play on Sundays.  However, our team ended up having TWO LDS kids who couldn't play so they ended up losing the Sunday game (the other kids had to play the whole time).  I could tell we were not terribly popular for our decision during the team party at pizza the next week.  I felt sad and discouraged, I wish they hadn't put the game on a Sunday since the rest of our season was played on Fridays and Saturdays.  Boo.
