I made these pics black and white because none of them turned out.
Since Calvin was born, for the first time since baby Avery was born, I have just not had hands to take pictures. That plus my broken computer, I've had photography blues. Ha ha. I still love and want to focus on it (pun intended) but I am definitely losing my touch. I still mostly shoot manually but I need to shoot more often to get the results I used to get/want.
Since we're on the topic of photos.
Family and friends, listen to me when I say this.
When trying to get a group of kids in one shot, it does NOT help to have a crowd of grown ups behind the camera shouting at them to smile. It DOES help them to smile (they think you look hilarious), but it also causes each one of them to look in a different direction. Scroll through these photos for evidence of one of my biggest pet peeves.
Penelope sums up my feelings about this perfectly. These could have been gorgeous shots! But we got zero perfect ones. AAACK! It bothers me when we're out shooting and it bothers me even more when I sit down at my computer to edit. Ugh.
The same applies in the case of multiple camera photos being taken. When five people see a gorgeous (posed) shot and want it on their camera, for the love of photography, people! TAKE THEM ONE AT A TIME!!! Another pet peeve of mine is when all of the grown ups are like "Oh my gosh! All of the kids in one spot! Let me pull out my phone and shout and wave to get them to look at mine, while three other people are doing the same." Take turns, people.
Wow, that felt surprisingly great to get it off my chest. Problem is that none of my family and friends still read this blog. Oh well, you can't win them all.

Understood. But what i love about these photos it's they're real. I love love love how these ones turned out. And I'm sorry but the bunch of adults jumping around behind the camera was the only way to get Jackson even looking the right direction at this age. Sorry you didn't like them! They're some of my faves, so thanks d for taking then anyway!
I'm with Tenille on this one. I thought these turned out great even if some were looking in opposite directions. If you remember, getting all these kiddos to smile much less look in the same direction was nearly impossible. I actually liked these pics!
I promise never to wave if you promise to come take pictures of my family sometime.
